Turn your PC into a Six Room Music Server by adding our XLi PCI-e card

CasaTunes XLi consists of a PCI-e card that plugs into your PC or Media Center PC. The only other hardware equipment required is a multi-channel amplifier and speakers installed in each of the rooms of your home. The XLi card offers an advanced DVD-audio quality sound output with a built-in matrix switch and preamplifier circuits built on the card.

To complete your installation, simply add a multi-channel amplifier, such as our CasaTunes XLa 12 x 30W multi-channel amplifier, and add speakers of your own choice.

The XLi card can play your music in up to 6 separate rooms in the home. The stereo outputs that feed your multi-channel amplifier are labeled Z1 through Z6 on the XLi bracket. Each output consists of a 3.5mm pre-amplified high impedance output stereo jack. Using the CasaTunes software (which is provided with the XLi), you can control the Volume, Balance, Bass, Treble and Loudness Compensation settings for each room.

The XLi includes four built-in music players which are used to play music from your Windows media library, iPod, iTunes, or Internet radio.

An external music source can be plugged into the L1 IN (line in) jack for a fifth source of music. This could be an XM or Sirius tuner, AM/FM tuner, satelittle receiver, cable box or other audio device. If this device is controlled via IR, you can use an IR emitter attached to the IR Out jack to control the device.

In addition to the built in music server, the CasaTunes XLi has an onboard hardware matrix switch, which allows you to switch any number of sources to any number and combination of rooms. If playing a source in multiple rooms, the music is guaranteed to be perfectly synchronized in all rooms, with no delays and no echos.

When combined with our CasaTunes Software (which is included with the XLi), the CasaTunes XLi provides all the control you need to manage your multi-room audio solution from anywhere in the home.

Need more than six rooms? Then the CasaTunes XLe is for you!

CasaTunes XLe is a simple “out of the box” whole house audio solution specifically designed for the experienced integrator looking for a cost efficient whole house audio system for their clients.

Included in the box is an advanced DVD-audio quality PCI-e sound card with a built in matrix switch that has the capability to output music in 12-48 rooms. To complete the installation add one or more multi-channel amplifiers, like our CasaTunes XLa 12 x 30W multi-channel amplifier, and add speakers of your choice.

With CasaTunes XLe you can listen to as many as nine different sources of music and is scalable from 12-48 rooms in a home. CasaTunes XLe has five separate internal sources and four external sources.

Each internal source is able to play back music from your iTunes collection, music stored on your Microsoft Windows Media Center PC, Windows PC or any networked storage device, as well as music from an iPod and Internet radio. The external sources typically come from an AM/FM tuner, XM or Sirius satellite radio or other external music source.

CasaTunes XLe includes a 1U height rack mountable expansion box that supports up to twelve rooms. For larger homes, CasaTunes XLe can grow to meet the most demanding needs of your customers by adding up to three additional expansion boxes.

Complementing its scalability are CasaTunes XLe advanced features, including support for controlling access to shared speakers in a Home Theater, doorbell and whole house paging integration, and IR control of external sources.

Selecting your music has never been easier than it is with the CasaTunes™ XL Music Server. Simply use the built-in touch screen and take control of your music. If you need to add control from other locations in the home, you can use any PC browser or supported web browser device, or you can opt to install our new CasaTunes™ keypads in each room.

The CasaTunes™ XL Music Server is available in two configurations. Select the CasaTunes™ XLi Music Server if your installation requires 6 or less rooms, or the CasaTunes™ XLe Music Server which provides support for up to 12 rooms, and can be expanded to support up to 48 rooms.

Our keypads are specifically designed to work with the CasaTunes line of multi-source multi-zone audio products including the CasaTunes XLi, CasaTunes XLe and the CasaTunes XL Music Server products.

The CasaTunes keypads complement using the CasaTunes browser based user interface, providing an alternate way to control your CasaTunes music system.

The keypads are used to control the room's music, including:

- Turning the music in the room on or off (including optional Sleep mode)
- Turning the music in all rooms on or off (including optional Sleep mode)
- Changing the volume
- Switching between the different sources of music
- Selecting your CasaTunes music, including music from your Windows, iTunes, and iPod collection, as well as tuner and Internet Radio stations
- Selecting your CasaTunes music by Album, Artist, Genre or Playlist
- Selecting to Play, Pause or Stop your music playback
- Enabling Shuffle and Repeat modes
- Configuring Balance, Bass, Treble and Loudness settings for the room
- Enabling DND (Do Not Disturb)
- Selecting the previous or next track
- Selecting the previous or next radio or internet radio station
- Selecting the Zone (Room) or Zone Group this keypad controls

The LCD screen displays information, including:

- Time of Day (when the room is turned off)
- Settings for the room, such as DND, Master, Lock and whether music is scheduled to be played in this room (Wake Up)
- Name of the currently selected source
- Smooth scrolling of information including station name, song title, artist name, and album name (if available)
- Whether Shuffle and Repeat modes are enabled
- Track progress (if available)

Installation of the keypads is simple. The keypads fit in a standard single gang electrical box or low voltage frame. A Cat5 cable (supplied and installed by your installer) with standard RJ45 connectors, connects to the back of the keypad on one end, and to one of the six ports located on the back of the CasaTunes USB6 Keypad Hub on the other end. The CasaTunes USB6 Keypad Hub connects to the CasaTunes Music Server PC via a standard USB cable (that is supplied with the hub). Up to six keypads can be attached to each CasaTunes USB6 Keypad Hub. If you need more that six keypads, simply add as many CasaTunes USB6 Keypad Hubs as needed.

To assign a keypad to a Zone (room) or a Zone Group, simply enter the Menu mode (Press and Hold the Source key), scroll down to the Zone Setup menu item, and select the Zone (room) or Zone Group you want this keypad to control. In the case of a large room or listening area you can even assign multiple keypads, providing installers maximum coverage and flexibility.

The CasaTunes Keypads are available in almond, black, ivory and white.
